988 Day

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and on September 8, communities across the country will recognize 988 Day: a national day of action to raise awareness about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Whether you're an individual, business, school, or community organization, you can help ensure more people know that compassionate support is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988. Here are a few simple ways to get involved:

  • Save 988 in your phone and encourage your family, friends, and colleagues to do the same.

  • Share a post on social media on September 8 letting others know that help is available by calling or texting 988.

  • Download and share resources from the 988 Day toolkit with your workplace, school, faith community, or neighborhood group.

  • Start a conversation. Check in with someone you care about and remind them they're not alone.

  • Display a 988 flyer or poster in your office, break room, community center, or other shared space (with permission).

We'll be sharing additional resources and ideas throughout the month to help you participate. In the meantime, you can explore the official 988 Day toolkit for graphics, social media posts, and other ready-to-use materials.
