Sew What? craft swap and workshop

  • MoCo Pride Center 4805 Edgemoor Lane Bethesda, MD, 20814 United States (map)

We have a treat for September’s second sewing date! On September 19th, our sewist-in-residence Sam-Mayes (they/them) at Mayes Makes is pulling double duty — first at our Gender Affirming Wear Exchange in Rockville embroidering free garments for community members, and then back to the Pride Center for a special crafting session and workshop!

Sam-Mayes usually offers 2 classes with us on a monthly basis: an introduction to hand-stitching and a more detailed mending class. You do NOT need to attend the hand-stitching class to participate in the mending class! Beginners are encouraged. New dates are added at the beginning of each month.

Sam-Mayes also offers personal alteration and mending help through MoCo Pride Center — feel free to speak to them one-on-one before or after class about personal projects.

Sign up below to attend! We look forward to seeing you soon.
